François Berléand, born on April 22, 1952, in Paris, France, is a distinguished French actor known for his compelling performances in film and television. He gained widespread recognition for his portrayal of Gilles Triquet, the equivalent of David Brent in the French adaptation of "The Office," titled "Le Bureau," produced by Canal+. Berléand also showcased his talent as the honest and diligent police commissioner Tarconi in the 2002 action film "The Transporter," a role he reprised in its sequels and the subsequent TV series.

Berléand's early life was marked by a challenging childhood, influenced by his Russian-Armenian father and French mother. He initially pursued business studies but found his passion for acting during university, making his stage debut in "Sur une plage de l'Ouest." After training under renowned acting coach Tania Balachova, he worked with director Daniel from 1974 to 1981 on various productions.
