Plot

In this comedic tale, Jerry Lewis portrays Norman Phiffer, an earnest man living a modest life, blissfully unaware that his girlfriend, Barbara, is part of the affluent Tuttle family that owns a prestigious department store. Barbara's mother, Mrs. Tuttle, is hellbent on tearing the couple apart and takes the drastic step of hiring Norman, hoping to embarrass him into breaking up with her daughter. As tensions rise, will Mrs. Tuttle succeed in shattering their romance, or will Norman's antics bring chaos to the family business?
