Plot

A secret affair blossoms between Creole maid Lea Mariotte and her wealthy employer, George Brissac, who is fixated on marrying into high society and securing his uncle's fortune. After Lea accidentally kills a man, Captain Fabian intervenes, rescuing her from execution while harboring his own vendetta against the Brissacs. As Fabian cares for her, his feelings deepen, yet he remains silent about his love.
