In the vibrant 1950s, a surge of fascination with space captivated nations worldwide, with the United States and the Soviet Union leading a fierce race beyond the stars. The launch of Sputnik in 1957 marked a monumental achievement for the Soviet Union, soon followed by the United States. Amidst this backdrop, a group of high school students in Bandırma found inspiration in the cosmos and yearned to explore it themselves. Despite having no official space program, government backing, or funding, they formed the "Bandırma Rocket Club" with aspirations of sending their own rocket into the heavens.
