Plot

Following the tragic death of his young son due to hospital negligence, Harry Fertig seeks vengeance by murdering the doctor, nurse, and clerk he holds responsible. His boss hires Roy Bleakie, a cunning lawyer focused solely on winning cases, to defend him. When Bleakie learns that Fertig intends to plead guilty, he is taken aback and begins to grapple with his own ethics. As the trial unfolds, Bleakie is forced to confront the complexities of justice and morality while representing a man who acted out of desperation and grief.
