Plot
Martin and Hazel Quarrier, fundamentalist missionaries from a small town, embark on a journey to the South American jungle, tasked with converting local tribes. Their mission, once managed by Catholics, ended tragically after the natives killed the previous team. Leslie Huben, an arrogant overseer more focused on outshining his Catholic counterparts than the indigenous people, sends them on their way. While Hazel is filled with dread, Martin finds the culture intriguing. Complicating matters, American pilot Lewis Moon becomes involved with the tribe, drawn to Leslie’s alluring wife, Andy. Tensions rise between cultures and advancing civilization, threatening calamity.
