Plot
In the year 1933, a young woman and her father stumble upon a plantation in Alabama where the residents exist as if slavery is still in effect. Driven by a moral obligation to the trapped souls behind the imposing gates, she decides to remain and help free them, guiding them through their inaugural harvest. Alongside four of her father's associates and a lawyer, she confronts the formidable challenge of reviving the estate called Manderlay.
