Sold (2016)

Plot

Thirteen-year-old Lakshmi resides with her family in a modest mountain hut in Nepal. When devastating monsoons destroy their crops, her father insists she must find work to support them. He introduces her to a sophisticated stranger who promises a job as a maid in the city. Eager to help her family, Lakshmi travels to India, arriving at a place called "Happiness House" filled with hope. However, her dreams quickly shatter as she discovers the horrifying reality: she has been sold into a life of prostitution, and escape seems almost impossible.
