Plot
Rick Mason schemes to exploit the patriotic sentiments of a war widow, persuading her to invest her savings in a fake memorial. As he develops genuine feelings for her, guilt begins to gnaw at his conscience. However, Mason's ruthless con-artist boss doesn't take kindly to any wavering in their dishonest plans, using intimidation and violence to keep him in line. Torn between love and deceit, Mason finds himself trapped in a dangerous game where his emotions could cost him everything.
