Plot
In a quaint French countryside, an elderly man and his last living kin plot to seize a neighboring barren land essential for its spring water, crucial for their flower cultivation. Their plans are thwarted when a new owner arrives to claim the property. Undeterred, they obstruct the spring, observing with malicious glee as the newcomer struggles through a sweltering summer to supply water to his crops from distant wells. Despite witnessing the toll this takes on his health and the despair of his wife and daughter, the two men remain fixated on their selfish ambition to acquire the precious water source.
