Plot

Molly, a taxi dancer at the Miramar Ballroom, dreams of attending the prestigious Bixby College. With encouragement from her brother Slats and his friend Oliver, a fabricated article about her ambition catches the attention of Bixby’s progressive dean, who offers her a scholarship. Molly insists that Slats and Oliver accompany her as caretakers. However, the school’s chairman threatens eviction unless Molly is expelled. To save Bixby, they devise a plan to bet on the basketball team, but the local bookie has his own agenda. As tensions rise, Oliver must find a way to turn the tide for his friends.
