Plot
Jake Huard, hailing from a family of shipbuilders, makes a dying promise to his mother to attend the prestigious Annapolis Naval Academy. After persistently lobbying a Congressman for admission, he gains entry despite lackluster grades. However, once there, Jake struggles academically and faces criticism for his overconfidence, which affects his classmates. On the verge of giving up, he is spurred back by the taunts of his unsupportive father. With the encouragement of friends and his love interest, Senor Ali, Jake discovers a new passion in the brigade boxing tournament, where he has the chance to shine.
