Plot

In 1865, Major Matt Stewart leads a group of Confederate soldiers in a desperate raid on a Union cavalry-protected gold wagon. After a survivor reveals the war has ended, the men decide to claim the gold and confront their deceitful liaison. Tensions rise as Rolph Bainter murders a fellow soldier over greed, prompting a hasty escape in a wagon. When pursued by a posse, Stewart misleads them, but an accident leaves them stranded. Seeking refuge, they commandeer a stagecoach, only to discover the supposed lawmen have ulterior motives, aiming to seize the gold for themselves.
