Frank S. Hagney (March 20, 1884 – June 25, 1973) was an accomplished Australian actor known for his extensive work in Hollywood. Born in Sydney, he made a significant impact in the film industry, featuring in over 350 movies between the years 1919 and 1966. While many of his roles were minor and went uncredited, his imposing stature often led him to portray authority figures or tough sidekicks. One of his most recognized performances was that of Mr. Potter's silent wheelchair attendant in Frank Capra's iconic film, *It's a Wonderful Life* (1946).

In addition to his film career, Hagney appeared as a guest on more than 70 television series, including popular shows like *The Cisco Kid*, *The Lone Ranger*, *Perry Mason*, and *Daniel Boone*. He starred in several notable films such as *The Fighting Marine* (1926), *Ghost Town Gold* (1936), and *Riders of the Dawn* (1939). His work encompassed a range of silent films, including *The Battler* (1919) and *The Two-Gun Man* (1926), as well as sound westerns like *The Phantom of the West* (1931) and *Blazing Frontier* (1943).

Hagney was married to Edna Shephard, and he passed away in Los Angeles in 1973. His final films, *McLintock!* and *Come Blow Your Horn*, were released in 1963. He rests at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Glendale.
