Plot
Joe Orton, a charismatic young playwright, forms a deep bond with the older, reserved Kenneth Halliwell while studying at drama school. Their relationship blossoms into a passionate affair, with Orton gaining confidence in his sexuality and achieving success in his writing. However, as Orton's star rises, Halliwell's feelings of isolation and jealousy intensify, leading to a volatile emotional spiral.
