Plot
Jack and Sally, two ardent lovers, find their budding romance complicated by their families’ fierce rivalry in the lead-up to the 1938 Kentucky Derby. Their connection is strained by historical loyalties, as Sally’s family supported the Confederacy during the Civil War, while Jack’s clan backed the Union. Uncle Peter, a staunch protector of family honor, refuses to accept Jack, further entrenching the divide.
