Plot

A disillusioned semantics professor from California receives news of a distant relative's passing in Missouri. Traveling cross-country for the funeral, he opts to stay for the summer and takes a job with a power-line crew. As he immerses himself in this new life, he unexpectedly falls for a local girl. Their budding romance compels him to confront his future and the choices that will shape his path. Torn between his academic past and newfound love, he must decide what truly matters in his quest for fulfillment.
