The Home and the World (1985)

Plot

A woman's reflections on her past reveal the transformative events that shaped her worldview. Years earlier, her affluent, Western-educated husband broke societal norms by encouraging her education and stepping beyond the confines of traditional married life, much to the dismay of her conservative family. When a college friend of her husband, a passionate leader of a rebellion against British rule, arrives, she becomes enamored with his cause, despite her husband's concerns. As her bond with this revolutionary deepens, she discovers the complexities of political strife, where class and religious tensions blur the lines of right and wrong.
