Episode Overview
A catastrophic ferry accident puts the entire team at Seattle Grace Hospital to the test. Richard struggles with the emotional fallout from his divorce and decides to dye his hair "for the ladies," which becomes a running joke among Mark, Burke, and Derek. Cristina attempts to share her wedding news with Meredith but finds herself unable to do so. Meanwhile, George offers to locate a woman’s son, who was lost in the chaos, but she refuses surgery until she knows he’s safe. Izzie is overwhelmed as she tends to a man trapped between two cars, while Alex helps a pregnant woman with severe facial injuries. Meredith cares for a girl separated from her mother, but in a tragic turn, she accidentally falls into the water and drowns, with only the girl witnessing the event.
