Pingu (1986)

Episode Overview

Pingu is sent by his mother to fetch some bread from the bakery. As he steps outside, he spots some jam biscuits and, noticing the baker’s wife is preoccupied chatting with another penguin, he swipes one. On his way home, he sneaks bites of the biscuit but quickly hides it when he sees a stranger. Upon arriving home, he tries to conceal it behind his back, but Mother notices and demands to know what he’s hiding. Reluctantly, Pingu confesses, and she takes him back to the bakery to apologize, much to his chagrin. Once there, Pingu feels too ashamed to say sorry and turns away. The baker learns of the incident and decides Pingu should help him clean the chimney as punishment. Pingu agrees and goes up to the roof to untangle the chimney brush. However, when the baker pulls the rope, Pingu gets yanked down the chimney. As a gesture of gratitude, the baker gives him a cake
