Episode Overview

Maya and Darnell decide to celebrate their love by renewing their vows, and Joan offers her home for the occasion. However, Joan's vision for the ceremony clashes with Maya's, as she tries to impose her own ideas on the planning. Frustrated, Maya tells Joan she no longer wants her as a bridesmaid and confronts her about her condescending attitude. Meanwhile, Toni becomes increasingly worried about the trend of Black men marrying outside their race and resolves to take action, enlisting Lynn’s help to ensure William reconnects with his roots.
