Episode Overview
Maya's neighbor, Jalen, expresses his desire to start dating her, but she declines, citing her busy life. Soon after, Lynn shows interest in Jalen and seeks Maya's blessing to pursue him. Maya agrees, convinced that Jalen won't reciprocate Lynn's feelings. To her shock, Lynn and Jalen begin dating, prompting a jealous Maya to concoct excuses to interrupt their outings. Eventually, Maya confesses her feelings for Jalen. Both she and Lynn confront him for a decision, but Maya worries about the impact on their friendship. Ultimately, they agree not to pursue Jalen. Meanwhile, Todd reveals to Toni that he has an interview in New York, but is disheartened when she encourages him to go without asking for details. He lands the position as a plastic surgeon on a reality show, but tells Toni he prefers to go alone.
