Episode Overview
Maya discovers a significant rise in tuition costs, leaving her short on funds. William offers to help by fabricating a story about financial support from the firm's education program, but she refuses his assistance. Meanwhile, Lynn is house-sitting for Joan while she’s away with Brock, claiming she’ll work on a grant proposal for a new documentary, but is unproductive. Joan and Toni both deny her a place to stay, prompting Maya to agree to let Lynn live with her for a month if she pays rent. Lynn, however, becomes lazy and unmotivated. After Maya pays her tuition, she learns her credits won’t transfer, forcing her to restart as a freshman, leading to her emotional breakdown. Lynn, self-absorbed and whining about her own issues, frustrates Maya further. William steps in, urging Lynn to empathize with Maya and take initiative to improve her situation.
