Episode Overview
On the second day of the Big Alpine Race, Racer X is the only competitor to have successfully crossed the chasm. Meanwhile, Trixie, Sparky, Spritle, and Chim Chim are holed up in a nearby lodge, waiting out the storm. Two racers arrive with news about the hazardous pass, prompting Trixie and the crew to take her helicopter to rescue Speed. The following morning, Speed awakens to find himself blind. Despite this, he manages to locate the Mach 5 and starts it up. As Snake Oiler speeds by, claiming he’s on his way to victory, Speed uses his keen sense of hearing to follow the sound of Racer X’s car back onto the course. However, the Mach 5 gets stuck, leaving Racer X to continue on. But fate turns as Racer X crashes and injures himself. Speed rescues him, and together they devise a plan to catch up to Snake and reclaim the race.
