Episode Overview
Fran takes on a temporary role as an advice columnist and turns to Mama for guidance. True to form, Mama offers her straightforward wisdom, which Fran incorporates into her column. As Fran's popularity grows, her editor, Buzz, suggests that Mama deserves a share of the earnings. However, Fran is reluctant, intending to phase out Mama’s “Home-Spun” advice in favor of incorporating psychological insights in her future articles. That evening, Fran goes on a date with her editor, Dwight Nettles, who appreciates her advice but is puzzled by the psychological jargon she added. He reveals he has a dilemma of his own involving a married friend who's infatuated with a new female colleague. Seeking Mama's counsel, Fran discreetly steps away to call her for advice.
