Episode Overview

Feeling alone, Mama decides to visit Carl's grave by herself. Once there, she has a heartfelt conversation with him, only to discover that the grave next to his, intended for her, has another woman's name on it. Alarmed, she hurries back home. Ellen arrives late to take Mama to the cemetery, just as Mama bursts in with her unsettling news. Fran and Mama quickly return to sort things out, only to find that Carl's headstone was mistakenly placed two plots away. Overwhelmed with guilt, Mama feels like she’s betrayed Carl and insists he needs to send her a sign that everything is alright. Meanwhile, Sonya is on a date with a guy named Michael, who ends up flirting with a younger cheerleader, prompting Sonya to break up with him. Later, he shows up with flowers, but after Sonya ignores him, he gives the flowers to Mama. She interprets this as a reassuring message from Carl.
