Naomi suggests it might be quite valuable. Just then, Bubba enters, excitedly revealing that his college class trip to Oswald Caverns costs two hundred dollars, but Mama flatly refuses to fund it. Encouraged by Naomi and Vint, Mama agrees to have the brooch appraised, leading to a surprising visit from the ghost of "Grandma Crowley," who warns Mama against selling it. When Vint and Naomi return from the jeweler, they reveal the brooch's potential worth of $1,600. Mama insists they go back to retrieve it, rushing through dinner, while Bubba announces he found a job to cover his trip expenses, only to be fired shortly after.
