This Old House (1979)

Episode Overview

We explore the recently torn-down sections of the house, revealing just how poorly they were framed. To prepare for the new foundation, the crew uses engineered lumber to secure the gable end of the old structure with “pins” both inside and out. Herb Brockert breaks apart some of the old rubblestone foundation while a small concrete truck delivers footings for the new lally columns. Steve checks in on the Gallants at their Victorian home to see how they're settling in. A few days later, a preformed concrete foundation system is delivered and lifted into place by a crane. Shortly after, a transit truck brings in a slab for the crawlspace as part of the foundation.
