Episode Overview
The crew has received both conventional and engineered lumber, and they start securing the sill to the foundation. Terry Maitland carefully lays down fiberboard to shield his aging floors during the renovation. He shares his worries with the host about lead levels in the old building, noting that one of his children has had slightly elevated blood lead levels after a year of monitoring. The host assures Terry that the show will assist him. They head to the basement, where the host highlights the precarious support for the living room and recommends replacing a lally column that has been damaged. Later, they visit a c. 1760 tavern that has been relocated and reconstructed into a private residence, showcasing meticulous historical detail. Meanwhile, the crew begins installing the first wood I-beam joists on-site.
