Episode Overview
Nick Tomasino, whose family is struggling after losing their home to a fire, finds solace at the hotel thanks to Mrs. Cabot. There, he befriends Donna Corry, a privileged girl who gifts him stolen items from the hotel's shop. When Nick attempts to return one of the stolen gifts, he is caught by Peter and Billy, who mistakenly accuse him of theft. Although the shopkeeper doesn't press charges, he informs Nick's father. Meanwhile, Jonathan Corry discovers stolen goods in Donna's room, and she shifts the blame to Nick. Mr. Corry believes Nick is trying to shield his daughter. In another storyline, playwright Zan Elliott confides in her friend Eileen Weston about her sexuality during her San Francisco opening, but Eileen struggles to accept it and ends up spending the night with a male guest, leaving Zan feeling rejected and alone.
