Episode Overview

Cassel's bandits continue their ruthless attacks on visitors to Versailles, including the king's goddaughter. Fabien suspects the identity of the culprits and detains a potential suspect in hopes of catching the killers. Philippe is hailed as a hero for his valor during the siege of Cambrai, prompting Louis to send the Chevalier, Philippe's lover, to join him. However, before leaving, the Chevalier skillfully manipulates the king's mistresses, stirring rivalry among several ambitious women at court. On the eve of battle, Louis visits Philippe and realizes that his brother is clearly the superior soldier.
