Gimme a Break! (1981)

Episode Overview

Nell reminisces about her time as a member of a doo-wop girl group. Long before she met the Kaniskys, she and her two friends tried out for a chance to be noticed by a well-known celebrity. Unfortunately, he only showed interest in the other two girls, leaving Nell out of the group. Years later, when Nell learns that her friends are coming to visit, she discovers that they, too, have struggled with their weight and lost their singing careers, just like she did.
