Gimme a Break! (1981)

Episode Overview

During dinner, Grandpa pushes Eddie to propose to Maxine, noting their six-month relationship. Maxine chimes in, saying she’d accept if he asked. Spurred by this casual encouragement, Eddie decides to pop the question, and they start making wedding plans. Yet, on the big day, Eddie finds himself locked in the bathroom, needing time to reflect on the commitment he's about to make. He eventually tells Maxine that he’d prefer to grow old with her rather than without her. Touched by his words, she forgives him, and they happily tie the knot.
