A Different World (1987)

Episode Overview

Kim receives devastating news that her father has been shot while on duty. Whitley takes the wheel to drive her to Ohio, joined by Dwayne and Freddie for emotional support. In the hospital, Kim finds closure with her father as he begins his recovery. However, as Mr. Reese starts to heal, Whitley, Dwayne, and Freddie must hurry back to campus for their midterms. Freddie opens up about her doubts concerning God until she prayed at Kim's urging; having her prayer answered profoundly impacted her. Yet, her faith is shaken when Mr. Reese faces complications that leave him paralyzed from the waist down.
