Episode Overview

While Environmental Health workers are clearing out toxic barrels from a local quarry, they stumble upon a dead body. The only hint to the victim's identity is a soaked patchwork quilt found wrapped around them. After seeing the news, Miriam Lampter, the victim's glamorous mother, identifies her missing son, James. As DI Jackson and his team investigate, they uncover that James was secretly gay and involved with a married man, Nigel Goss. Initially a suspect, Goss is cleared, leading Jackson to scrutinize the Lampter family and particularly James' brother, Daniel, which yields unexpected revelations. Meanwhile, Paul Dangerfield is urged by his son Marty and coworker Nick MacKenzie to take some time off. He heeds their advice and invites Joanna for a getaway. Meanwhile, Alison and Ben enjoy a camping trip in Snowdonia, but their adventure takes an unexpected turn.
