Snakes and Ladders (1989)

Overview

Set in the year 1999, the UK is starkly divided by barbed wire and border patrols, creating a sharp contrast between the desolate North and the affluent South. Lord Tewkesbury, a wealthy businessman, believes his son Giles requires hands-on experience. He orchestrates a plan for Giles to work incognito, but it backfires spectacularly. Instead of gaining valuable insights, Giles finds himself in the harsh conditions of Northern Britain, performing menial tasks. Meanwhile, Gavin, who once struggled with poverty, unexpectedly relocates to the sunny comforts of South Britain, leading to an intriguing twist of fate.
