S02E05 No Promises
Episode Overview
Ellyn grapples with the shock of her parents' divorce and her increasing distance from Woodman. When her father calls to invite her to lunch after nearly two decades, she confides in Hope and Nancy, questioning his motives. At work, tensions rise as she clashes with Woodman during a meeting. During lunch with her father, James, it becomes clear he isn't truly engaged in their conversation. He then drops a surprising revelation: he and her mother, Marjorie, are separating, and Ellyn needs to speak with her. Back home, Woodman senses Ellyn's distress, but she craves solitude. Later, while reminiscing in her childhood home with her mother, she reflects on her emotionally absent father and wonders if she should have chosen someone like Michael instead.
