Episode Overview
Before a crucial mission, Savage suffers a life-threatening injury from shrapnel near his heart and ends up in the hospital. There, he encounters Sergeant Aaronson, a gunner from Major Cobb's crew, who is grappling with the recent loss of his close friend, Saul Barstein, and has lost his will to live. The two form a deep connection. To save Savage, Dr. Kaiser enlists the help of his mentor, Dr. Simon Lewis, a cardiologist, but tragedy strikes when Lewis's aircraft crashes, resulting in his death. Kaiser steps up to perform the surgery successfully, aided by a blood donation from Aaronson. Both Savage and Aaronson support each other's recovery. After the mission to the Ruhr Valley, Aaronson and Ivy decide to marry.
