Episode Overview

Senator Clay Johnson is determined to end the long-range bombing initiative due to the significant losses in aircraft and personnel. Savage counters, insisting that with sufficient firepower and long-range fighter support, they can succeed. Since the P-51 Mustang isn't available yet, they lack the fighter cover they need. He proposes targeting Hamburg or Kiel using planes equipped with 50 mm guns instead of 20 mm. While grounded by poor weather, Savage is approached by the Vicar of Archbury, who inquires about the marriage request from Eddie Pryor and April Barrett. Confused, Savage realizes he hasn't received such a request and later learns from Pryor that he fears the commitment. When the weather clears, during the next mission, Pryor becomes trapped in the Ball Turret due to damage. Savage hands the mission over to Major Roberts while he and Mewlay manage to land the damaged aircraft with Pryor still inside. The mission ends successfully with no casualties, and Pryor marries April Barrett.
