Episode Overview
The 918 touches down in Mogador, North Africa, to refuel and restock its weapons. Gallagher's arrival is delayed by 21 hours due to a stop in Yugoslavia. Lieutenant Colonel Preston "Pres" Gallagher, brother to Joe Gallagher, leads a mixed group of American, British, and Australian troops who have been struggling to maintain their position, asserting that "Infantry holds, that's what they do." With Gallagher finally on the ground, Pres opts to withdraw. He takes Gallagher's fuel and dispatches Captain Strader to destroy the 918th's planes. Exhausted, Pres collapses and is taken to the hospital. Major Dutton steps up to lead the ground forces and instructs Master Sergeant Orland to prepare for departure. Gallagher requests fuel, but the incoming plane is shot down. After recovering, Pres resolves to continue the fight, while Gallagher sends Lieutenant Colonel Bailey with three B-17s to carry out a bombing mission.
