Episode Overview
A V-1 rocket crashes in Sweden, prompting the Allies to seize the opportunity. They enlist Group Captain Anthony Carmichael, an expert in rocket technology. While in civilian attire at the Star & Bottle, he has a spat with Sandy, who later discovers him drunk and slumped on a bench. On the covert operation, Gallagher, Carmichael, and Komansky board an unmarked aircraft bound for Sweden. They encounter engine malfunctions and a faulty compass, forcing them to shadow a German diplomatic courier plane. This plane carries Dr. Tanzman, the V-1 guidance system's designer, and Oberst Ulrich, both intent on recovering the rocket. Meanwhile, Carmichael overindulges and accidentally discloses their mission to Swensen, a German agent.
