Episode Overview
Nine new aircraft and their crews touch down at Archbury, including a group of WACS led by Staff Sergeant Margo Demarest, an old acquaintance of Gallagher. Three ace pilots—Clinton, Dejohn, and Rausch—arrive from the Pacific, delivering new P-51s to the 511th Fighter Squadron. Rausch and Dejohn perform stunts above the airfield to impress Margo, inciting Gallagher's anger. Although Major Davidson, the Squadron CO, is keen to have them, he reveals he must follow Gallagher's directives. After Gallagher inquires about their orders, Dejohn mentions they’re in their bags. Gallagher assigns them to the 918th temporarily. However, the pilots discover their official orders separate them, and they’re eager to stay together. Dejohn persuades Margo to create fake orders to get them assigned to England, and after he expresses his feelings for her, she agrees to help.
