Episode Overview
Calvin makes a new friend in Ron, who claims his wealth comes from a wealthy uncle. Ron treats Calvin to a new pair of shoes and invites him and Brenda to a Stevie Wonder concert. However, Mary disapproves of Ron's apparent attempts to buy friendship. When Ron pays Calvin $50 to deliver a sealed package, Calvin unknowingly becomes involved in a drug deal, receiving $1,000 to pass back to Ron. Pearl and Mary suspect Ron is dealing drugs, and when Mary confronts his mother about it, she dismisses her concerns. Calvin later confronts Ron, who admits he manipulated him for a mere pair of shoes. Tragically, that same day, Ron's mother arrives at a community meeting to reveal that Ron was killed during a botched drug deal.
