As the final heat week comes to an end, the last group of ten chefs from various kitchens across Britain arrives at the MasterChef kitchen for their first challenge. They face a crucial task to show Monica and Gregg that they possess the skills and taste needed to cook for the esteemed Michel Roux Jr. In the Invention Test, the chefs must overcome their nerves in just 50 minutes, using only six ingredients: strawberries, a bar of white chocolate, aubergine, tofu, basil, and St George's mushrooms. They need to showcase their culinary talent and creativity under pressure to impress Monica and earn the opportunity to cook for Michel. While they are currently safe, over the next two nights, each chef will face additional tests before Monica and Gregg determine who will get the chance to impress the culinary legend Michel Roux Jr.
