With Christmas approaching, Meg chooses to spend quality time with Luke, joining him and Roxanne in North Philly to hear his performance with a local church choir. Meanwhile, JJ is drawn to an older, more seasoned employee at the country club and sneaks out just as Meg returns home. Noticing both of his children's antics, Jack enforces inconsistent discipline, grounding Meg while remaining silent about JJ’s actions, frustrating Helen, who champions fairness. Patty discovers that Will accidentally damaged the Virgin Mary statue and replaces it with a larger version. Meanwhile, Henry revels in the success of his advertising ideas, but Jack grows apprehensive after a well-meaning friend's comments suggest Henry may leave.
