Catherine begins her bold move to seize power. Following Marial’s guidance, she tries to charm Count Orlo, a learned noble in the palace, to secure his allegiance. Unfortunately, her efforts backfire. Yet, witnessing Peter’s harsh treatment of the local aristocracy and his refusal to heed their concerns, Orlo ultimately chooses to align himself with Catherine’s uprising.
