Episode Overview
The episode kicks off with the teams embarking on a 78-mile drive from their pit stop to a hot spring, where they must navigate a shaky bridge to obtain their next clue. All the teams arrive just in time for the 6:30 A.M. opening, leading to a frantic footrace. They receive their next direction, requiring a 145-mile drive to an oil plantation, which causes some confusion as two teams get lost. Realizing they’re off course, Kelly and Jon decide to go for the Fast Forward, believing it’s a safe choice since they doubt other teams will pursue it. However, Reichen and Chip have unwittingly taken the same route towards the Fast Forward and, upon realizing their mistake, choose to continue on to secure it. Meanwhile, Jon and Al reach the Detour, which offers them a choice between "Chop" or "Haul." They must either chop down fruit to find their clue or haul 25 heavy bundles of fruit.
