Episode Overview
W.P.C. Martella and P.C. Stamp apprehend an American woman for shoplifting, and she urgently demands that the police reach out to her husband, who is at a nearby hotel. Unbeknownst to her, her husband is busy reporting his briefcase stolen from their room. D.I. Burnside is cautioned to steer clear of the situation by a Special Branch officer and a C.I.A. agent, who are monitoring the husband as he plans to sell classified documents. Meanwhile, D.S. Roach grapples with financial issues, but when one of his informants offers to sell him the secret papers, he and Burnside seize the opportunity to settle Roach's debts. Roach is enraged when Burnside betrays his informant, resulting in the documents being returned to the Americans.
