Episode Overview
W.P.C. Brind is in pursuit of two thieves who snatch a bag, but they manage to escape. Later, she spots one of them on the street and apprehends him. The bag's owner, Mrs. Foster-Adams, comes to the station to file a report but turns out to be more of a hassle than expected, ultimately lodging a complaint against Ch. Supt. Brownlow for "gloating." Meanwhile, P.C. Ramsey and P.C. Melvin are assigned to patrol together, a pairing that Brownlow advises Insp. Frazer to avoid. Ramsey recklessly drives his car near a group of schoolchildren for a laugh and accidentally sets off a burglar alarm by throwing his truncheon at a can. D.C. Lines investigates and discovers the truncheon. Later, Ramsey and Melvin apprehend a glue-sniffing intruder, who hurts Ramsey's finger. Tosh identifies the suspect and persuades Ramsey to drop the assault charge.
