Episode Overview
W.P.C. Martella pays a visit to her friend Alison Page, who has suffered a severe beating. Alison, working as a sex worker, reveals that her assailant was a client. D.S. Roach manages to apprehend the man, but due to his diplomatic status, the Home Office insists on his release. D.I. Burnside instructs Roach to caution Alison’s father, George Page, against any rash actions. However, when the diplomat ends up assaulted, it becomes evident that Roach failed to heed the warning. Meanwhile, P.C. Stamp and P.C. Haynes look into a bookie’s complaint about his door being glued shut. Clients are upset over unpaid winnings, but Stamp persuades them to gamble again. The team places bets on the same dog, which surprisingly wins the race.
